Portrait of Iranian sound designer Arash Qasemi

Arash Qasemi, born in 1974, is a leading figure in Iranian cinema, known for his exceptional works in sound design and mixing.

With a master’s degree in sound and a second-degree art credential from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Qasemi has become a cornerstone of the industry, known for his innovative soundscapes.

His work has greatly improved the sound quality of many films and TV series, earning him widespread acclaim.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Cinema Sound Operators Association, he has received numerous honors throughout his career.

One of his most notable achievements came in 2018 when he won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Sound at the Fajr Film Festival.

Qasemi’s impressive body of work includes a diverse array of projects for Iranian VOD platforms such as 'Asphalt Jungle', 'Blue Whale', 'Jeyran', 'Rebel', and 'Gisou'.

Additionally, Qasemi has lent his skills to a variety of critically acclaimed films, including 'Henas', 'Shadravan', 'Drown', 'Polo Coat', 'Castle of Dreams', 'Darkhoungah', 'Sound and Fury', and 'Dowry's Sugar Bowl'.

Several of Qasemi’s works have been warmly received by audiences on iFilm screen. The most notable among them are the TV series 'Parvaneh' and 'Made in Iran', as well movies such as 'Track 143', 'My Brother Khosrow', 'Breath', 'Side View Mirror', and 'When the Moon Was Full'.
